Upper Wharfedale is the area surrounding the River Wharfe from up in Buckden down to Addingham, all in North Yorkshire.
The majority of this area is part of the Yorkshire Dales National Park and is known fondly as ‘up the Dale’. Being in Skipton, Upper Wharfedale is very accessible for us and is the area that we spend a lot of time exploring. By just driving 20 minutes up the road it feels like you are on holiday.
There are so many lovely little villages to wander around, walks along the river, up the fells and peaks, the river itself to paddle in on hot summers days and plenty of country pubs to grab lunch and a thirst quencher.
Our favourite spots are Bolton Abbey, Burnsall, Grassington and Kettlewell. Which one will you visit first?
