Settle

Settle is a quaint Yorkshire market town, similar to Skipton and not too far away. It is within the Yorkshire Dales National Park and is the ideal place to base yourself for a walk, day out, long weekend or a holiday.

There are so many walks that you can do in this area from short strolls along the river to the Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge. There is a walk to suit all ages and abilities. Our favourites includes Scaleber Force, Stainforth Foss, Catrigg Force and the longer highlights of Settle walk.

Within the town itself you can head down to the river, climb Castleberg Crag, shop at the independent businesses (our favourite being The House That Jack Built – an amazing kids toy shop), eat at the cafes or pubs, run wild on the sports pitches or play in the parks.

Further afield you can take a dip in the waterfalls, absorb the stunning views, sample some great feats of engineering, explore caves, climb mountains and witness some pretty special nature spectacles!
