Location: Hole Bottom, BD23 5DL
Distance: From Hebden, 0.8 miles
This Yorkshire Dales waterfall just up from Hebden, Burnsall is a great little addition to a walk in this area. Walking up alongside the river from Burnsall, this detour can be reached by crossing the suspension bridge and heading up through the fields to the village of Hebden. Once in Hebden you cross over the main road and follow Hebden Beck, or the road, up to Hole Bottom. Just before the hamlet of Hole Bottom the footpath veers off right, down a steep hill and the waterfall is in the bottom. When we went there had been a landslip so the route was blocked but with a bit of scrambling I could get close enough to view it. Once you are in the bottom there is a lovely pool and the water looked so inviting.
This particular area of the Yorkshire Dales is lovely. No visit to Hebden would be complete without a stop off at The Old School Tearooms in the village.
